The Town of Unity through the Unity Energy Committee, has recently received an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant to begin offering professional audits to homeowners within the Town of Unity. (Other area towns are working on similar grants.) Keep posted for more news on how you can get a low-cost, high quality energy audit for your home, commercial or non-profit property. With these audits you will be able to prioritize where to put your energy retrofit investments.
An energy audit assesses the amount of energy your home uses and where the most energy is used in order to determine what retrofits will be more cost-effective for your home.
Receive $300 from the EECBG grant to have an energy audit done on your home!
How do I receive the $300 to help pay for my energy audit?
- Schedule an energy audit using one of Efficiency Maine’s list of approved energy auditors.
- Furnish a copy of your energy audit report to the UEC.
- Have energy audit completed by June 1, 2011
Why is a home energy audit important?
A home energy audit will make you eligible to access weatherization incentive funds through Efficiency Maine and/or low-interest loans to make energy improvements to your home.
